Savings as simple as a free store card!

I am posting today about the importance of using the store card.  It pains me to be behind a customer who doesn’t take advantage of the store cards and pays full price for items.  The cards are free and give you such big savings.  Plus you can use manufacturer’s coupons to sweeten the deals.  Take for example my trip to Safeway today. If you want specific details for where and how to do this week’s (March 14-20th) deal go here.

4 GM Golden Grahams

4 Doritos

= $6.76 OOP

4 Life Cereal

5 Kelloggs Mini Wheats

2 Clorox 96 oz

.80 card savings
.60 store coupon
$1 manufacturer coupons

So if I just went into a store and bought these items without my store card or coupons it would have cost me $120.37.

If I  just used store card/coupons it would have cost me $60.15 – saving $60.22

Then if you also use manufacturer coupons I only spent $44.15 out of pocket after the additional $16.00 manufacturer coupons savings.

So in the end I saved $76.22.  Imagine what you could do with that money!?  At minimum there is no extra energy (except to swipe) for just using the store card/coupons that would have saved you $60.22.

Just remember that the next time a store asks you to sign up for a free store card, you could save yourself a lot for a little! You don’t have to be the extreme couponer to save.

  2. I also got some deals there today! I spent $10 OOP for 1 Red Baron frozen pizza, 2 6 packs of Snapple, 2 lbs of strawberries and some bananas. People are absolutely crazy who don't use the store card and all the coupons that are available!
